Buzzer Trivia Privacy Policy

Short Version

Buzzer Trivia does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to its developer. There are no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking across apps or websites. The app uses only Apple's own services — iCloud (CloudKit) to sync your progress and power the leaderboard, and Game Center for the ranked weekly leaderboard. Your data stays within Apple's ecosystem.

How Your Data Is Used

  • iCloud / CloudKit: Your game progress, streaks, and personal records are stored in your own private iCloud database and synced across your devices. The app also reads a shared public database that holds the global leaderboard (the daily question boards ship inside the app, not in the cloud). The developer cannot read your private iCloud data.
  • Game Center: If you opt in, your weekly score is submitted to a Game Center leaderboard. Your Game Center nickname (not your real name or email) is what other players see on the leaderboard. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
  • On-device: App preferences and a local copy of your current game are stored on your device via standard iOS/tvOS storage.

What the App Does NOT Do

  • No data is sent to the developer or any non-Apple third party.
  • No advertising or ad-network SDKs.
  • No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • No tracking across apps or websites. The Apple privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking as false.

Leaderboards Are Optional

You can play the entire game without signing in to Game Center. If you choose not to, your scores simply won't appear on the global leaderboard. You can sign out of Game Center at any time in iOS/tvOS Settings.

All trivia questions are original content. Buzzer Trivia is an independent game and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any television game show or its rights holders.

Children's Privacy

Buzzer Trivia does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone — children or adults. The App Store rates it appropriate for general audiences.

Changes To This Policy

If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the next app update's release notes.
